Herewith an apology and a promise. The apology is for the extreme drop in productivity in Not the Meaning of Life from about one post per day last summer to precisely zero. One reader contacted me recently about the reason for the silence and others may be wondering the same. I plead pressure of work in the day job, but now I am settling into something of a routine in that department, I undertake to do better from now on. I don’t think I’ll reach the heady heights of last summer, though. I think that was the result of having a number of ideas building up over the years, which I’d never given expression to. In other words, it could be that the well is, if not entirely dry, somewhat depleted. Also, when I re-read the posts from that time, some of them seem ripe for revision (or, in some cases, deletion!). I have started revising my book on expressivism, but it will probably be some months before I’m ready to upload a new version. In the meantime, I’m planning another post on determinism and free will. I also have more thoughts about streams of consciousness which I might be able to knock into shape. And hopefully, at some point, there’ll also be some autobiographical or ‘observational’ posts for light relief!
